Birgitte Bruun

Danish born jeweller, Birgitte Bruun, creates contemporary silver and gold jewellery, influenced by Scandinavian design ethos.

Birgitte handcrafts a range of contemporary, elegant and timeless jewellery. She likes to produce contrasts in her work, whether by texturing, oxidising or milling the silver or gold. She particularly enjoys shaping the metal by forging and planishing. Many of the pieces involve these techniques and give interesting textures to the precious metal. She also includes interesting semi-precious stones and pearls in her designs.

Having studied jewellery making through a series of evening classes and City and Guilds courses, she now has her own studio which she works from in Cambridge. Birgitte participates annually in Cambridge Open Studios and is a member of the Cambridge Jewellers Guild.
